CLASS CHORAL POEM
This was co-constructed by pupils in Y5PT. Their inspiration was their trips to Big Pit and the Hafod- Morfa Copperworks. They used the techniques acquired by the class teachers during the Swansea College of Art CPD earlier in the year for inspiration and a creative approach to storytelling.

Dark
Down, down, down, down..
We travel down in our iron cage,
Our minds swirling with emotions,
Fear, horror, terror, alarm
Til we hit the dark silence.....
Darkness all along the tunnel,
A darkness that listens,
A darkness that eats,
Darkness my only friend,
All alone in the dark,
No one to talk to,
No one listens except the darkness,
Darkness who wraps me in its powerful arms
Consumed by the dark,
No one to save me,
Darkness who eats me,
Darkness who loves me.
Darkness my old friend,
Darkness who listens,
Darkness who eats,
I am alone, so alone, so alone
Up, up, up, up
We travel up in our iron cage
Our minds swirling with emotions,
Freedom, light, joy, happiness
Darkness is left behind,
Work in the mine is done,
Sunshine and laughter beckon,
Time to play, time to laugh
Blinded by light,
Blinded by life.
