The ‘Working Whispers’ collaboration serves as a fitting tribute to Sue Philippart who sadly died during the middle of this project.

Passionate about local heritage and a love of culture and the arts, ‘Working Whispers’ was something that Sue held close to her heart. It was particularly relevant as her dissertation for her degree involved the study of Irish immigration into Greenhill in the later part of the nineteenth century and the part those immigrants played in the Copperworks at the Hafod.

Her knowledge on this subject , her enthusiasm and work as a dedicated teacher, her zest for life and all things adventurous and her friendship is greatly missed by many.

Sue, your working whispers are truly embodied in this collaboration. Your voice lives on along with those who have gone before.

We remember you in the morning, in the night, when we look at the stars, a song, a place, a smell a whisper. You are always with us. As part of this collaboration you are a lost voice able to speak once more.

Always missed but never forgotten.
